In Loving Memory of
Ed MacFadyen

Booster President:  March 2005 - July 4th, 2007

Donations to the Ed MacFadyen Scholarship Fund are being accepted!
Read below for more details.

It's not very often when you meet a person who inspires you like nothing else.  A person who gives and continues to give everyday.  Gives not only to his own wife, children and his own family, but to everyone around him.  He gives to people he has known for years and he gives to people he has known for only minutes.  He gives in more ways than you could possibly imagine.

Ed was this type of person .  He gave money, he gave endless hours of time, he gave smiles and hugs.  Most of all he gave his heart and love to all who were around him.  In a world where the norm is to not trust people and to question why, he accepted you for who you were and what you were trying to accomplish.  Then he would say, "What can I do to help" and "Let's make it happen".Ed Scotland

Ed Passed away on July 4th, 2007 while on vacation with his wife
and two children who he loved so very much.
We will miss Ed, and we will honor him as best we can here in the
Wilcox Instrumental Music Program everyday.
Ed, thank you for everything you gave to us and taught us.
We will never forget you.  We miss you and love you very much!!

In August of 2007 a memorial fund was set up in Ed's honor.  Our first goal was to raise enough money to purchase a new concert tuba.  The goal was $6000.00.  In August of 2008 the tuba was purchased and we hope to have it in time to use in Ireland in March of 2009.

Starting January 2009 a permanent scholarship fund  will be in place.  This money will go
towards helping current Wilcox  students with paying for their financial obligations
towards the Instrumental Music Program.  A portion of scholarship money will also be awarded to Instrumental Music students who plan on continuing their music education in college.  Applications for scholarships will be available to download online very soon.

We currently have students who are involved with multiple after school performing ensembles.  Their individual financial obligations can easily reach over $800.00.  In a year when we are traveling such as this year to Ireland.  An individual's financial burden can exceed $3000.00.
