Robert’s exposure to music began as a young baby listening to his family sing.  Robert started playing the trumpet at age 10 and started singing in his first choir at the age of 11.  Since then Robert has performed all over the country, which includes more than 20 different states and Canada. Robert has received numerous awards both vocally and instrumentally, performing solo and with many large and small ensembles.

Straight out of high school Robert began teaching high school marching programs.  He began designing drill for marching bands in 1994 and since then has designed shows for more than 30 high schools all over Northern California, Southern California and Texas.  He has designed shows for drum and bugle corps in England and Texas.  Robert was a member of the San Jose State Marching Band for 4 years, 3 years as their drum major.  In 1995 he performed with the now six time World Champions, Santa Clara Vanguard, where he marched Soprano (trumpet). In 1999 he became the visual caption head and in 2000 the Vanguard Cadets won the Division 2 World Championship.  They went on to become the first division two corps ever to qualify for the division one semi-finals. (Top 17 in the world)  From 2003 – 2005 Robert served as an assistant director for the corps and on the brass staff.
