March 9th - March 18th 2009

 

     The Wilcox High School Instrumental Music Program has been invited to participate in the 2009 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Limerick, Ireland and to perform in and around the city of Limerick. We will be traveling to Ireland on Monday March 9th and returning Wednesday March 18th. All students traveling to Ireland must be in possession of a valid passport by March 2nd, 2009.

 All checks should be made out to “Wilcox High School”

Total Costs for the trip will be $2500.00 (including meals)

** Total costs to be paid to Wilcox will be $1600.00 as of January 28th, 2009

      All students will be expected to cover their own meal costs. We added the total costs with meals to help you

prepare for a 10 day trip.

 

     You may pay for the trip in one full payment or we ask that you adhere to the following payment

schedule.

 5 payments of $400.00 each:

1st installment due Sept. 15th (absolute minimum of $200.00 to cover deposits)

2nd installment due Oct. 13th

3rd installment due Nov. 10th

4th installment due Dec. 15th

5th installment due Jan. 12th

 (Final payment could be reduced depending on fundraising success)

**If you paid the minimum $200.00 in September, the remaining $200.00 for September

must be paid by January 12th.

  • These funds will cover the program’s expenses for this trip, including flight to Ireland, Bus Transportation, Hotel, Sight Seeing trips, shipping costs of equipment.

  • There will be NO refunds for any individual who decides they do not want to attend this trip once the deposit has been paid.

A few highlights we are planning on this trip

  • 4 guided tours in and around the Limerick area. If we can include more we will if time and money permits.

  • A trip to the Dublin area including a guided tour

  • Castle tours

  • Free Time in the Downtown Limerick area.

There will be two performing groups traveling to Limerick, Ireland.

      A Percussion Unit and Honor Guard comprised of a marching battery unit, auxiliary percussion equipment and an honor guard will perform in the parades. We will be performing in 2 parades.

A Brass Ensemble will perform at local venues in and around the town of Limerick. We are looking at 3 to 5

performances.
